         Dr. David Franklin

 

Dr. David Franklin has vast experience in both primary and secondary schools as a teacher and administrator in California. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from California State University, Easy Bay, a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from National University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Franklin has been instrumental in turning around schools in high poverty neighborhoods with high levels of English Language Learners. He also has experience working in high income schools with high expectations and heavily involved parent organizations. He has presented workshops all over California for the California League of Schools, California Association of Bilingual Education, and California State University, East Bay on Response to Intervention, Grade Retention and Educational Equity.  Dr. Franklin was a finalist for the California League of School’s Educator of the Year Award in 2011. In 2014, Dr. Franklin helped establish one of California's newest Distinguished Schools.

University Partnerships

Dr. Franklin is an Adjunct Professor in Educational Leadership, Teacher Education and Special Education at a several universities including Temple University, Southwestern College, and National University. He is also a course designer in Master's and Doctoral prgrams in the areas of Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology and Civic Engagement.

 

 

 

Grace Tsai

 

 

Grace Tsai has an Ed.s in School Psychology and a Masters in Education with a concentration in Counseling from San Diego State University. She has a bachelors in Psychology with a biological emphasis from the University of California at Davis. She has worked on research grants focusing on the over-identification of diverse cultures, recently immigrated people groups and at risk student groups in special education. As a school psychologist, Grace has conducted comprehensive evaluations, developed and facilitated counseling groups, provided targeted classroom presentations, and implemented school wide Response to Intervention consultation systems for the purposes of providing direct support to students and staff. In addition to providing school psychologist services, she is a wraparound facilitator working with parents, mental health professionals, school staff and community members in providing strength based and culturally appropriate support to children with mental health needs.

 

 

 

 

        Kelly Wylie

 

Kelly Wylie has a background that extends from preschool to middle school where she has been a teacher, a coordinator, an Instructional Coach and an administrator. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from National University where her emphasis was English Language Learners and making academic vocabulary accessible to everyone. She obtained her teaching credential and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo and her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and English from the University of Nevada, Reno. Ms. Wylie has experience in working with a vast variety of populations and has been instrumental in school transformation. She has presented at the local, state and national levels on such topics as differentiated instruction, data-driven instruction, Response to Intervention (RtI) and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to name a few. Ms. Wylie was named Teacher of the Year for Greater Los Angeles and was nominated as ACSA Administrator of the Year.
 

 

         Stacey Williams

 

 

Stacey Williams, M.A., P.P.S.C., has an extensive background in student advocacy and positive psycho-educational development. Through her work with students, at the pre-school through collegiate level, and their families, Ms. Williams has established a reputation as a leader in the field of school counseling.  She obtained her Master of Arts degree in psychology from Humboldt State University, with and emphasis in school psychology and school counseling.   As the first in her family to attend college and graduate with an advanced degree, Ms. Williams has personal knowledge of the importance of educational access for all.  She has been published and presented on topics including college pathways and financial aide, promoting healthy child development, successful transitions in major life events, and understanding the autism spectrum.  Her work with families, students and teachers has been a pivotal asset in the transformation of the schools in which she has worked.  She understands the importance of respecting different perspectives and is a skilled mediator.  Through her extensive community connections, she has established a network of social service providers to insure students' basic needs are met and families have access to services.  Ms. Williams' work has been recognized at the district and site level, but her proudest accolade came from a promotion speech in which a student thanked Ms. Williams for assisting not only her, but her entire family.
